* Daydream Believers -
It's been rumored that Peter made a cameo appearance in the VH1 biopic, Daydream Believers. We believe that he did. There's
a scene where you can see someone in a green dragon-like costume. We think this is Peter!
* TV -
Peter has made guest appearances in many TV shows including: "Boy Meets World" (twice), "7th Heaven", "Wings" and "King of Queens".
* Alvin -
Peter's brother, Nick, wrote this popular childrens' song.
* The Peter Tork Acetates -
The PT Acetates were indeed found at Peter's Laurel Canyon home after he'd moved in the early 1970's, and they're mostly
alternate mixes and demos of Peter's BBM/Head material.
Several different versions of "Long Title", "Lady's Baby", "Tear The Top...", Can You Dig It", "Alvin", "Seeger's Theme", and "Merry Go
Round", as well as different mixes of "Circle Sky", "Auntie's Municipal Court", "Come On In", and "While I Cry".
A standout is the full 6-minute version of the original cut of "The Girl I Left Behind Me", which was supposed to contain "Girl Named
Love/Her Name Is Love" (the same tune performed with Charlie Smalls on the tv show) sung over the Clarksville riff.
It also has some demo recordings by Bill Atkins, the man who wrote "Wind Up Man" and "String For My Kite".
An interesting listen, if only for the Dolenz-sung version of "Tear The Top...".
An unknown generation tape had been floating around for years, but we finally got an amazing upgrade directly from the fellow who
owns the orignal acetate. And after much scrutinization, my personal opinion is that Nesmith is not the vocalist on the mysterious
"My Community". Tiny Tim did a great version on one of his albums, though.
* Teacher -
Yes, Peter taught English, math, drama, Eastern philosophy and "Rock Band Class" at Pacific Hills, a private secondary school in
Santa Monica, CA in the mid 70's.
* Mixed Signals -
Two women discover they have the same rock star boyfriend and both think they are the one he is sharing his New York apartment
with. When Vinnie returns from a vacation to celebrate his birthday with the girlfriend he expects to find at home, he discovers both
women together and that he can't have his cake and eat it too. Peter plays the band manager in this movie.
