* PBS -
Pacific Arts (Nez's company) entered into a deal with PBS to create and distribute PBS videos.
PBS was suppose to air ads and advertise the videos in other ways to help Pacific Arts sell them.
When that didn't happen, PA was left in debt for all these video tapes that weren't sold. It's also
important to note here that it was understood that PA was to issuse 12-24 titles a year, but PBS
demanded something like 144 titles after the deal was struck. PBS then sued Nez for money he
owed them for licensing fees and whatnot (How could Nez pay the fees if the videos didn't sell?
And why didn't they sell? They weren't advertised by PBS!).
Nez later filed a countersuit stating that PBS had not lived up to their end of the bargain, and
basically had left PA hung out to dry. PBS won their suit for about $1.4 million.
The awesome part is, that Nez also won *his* suit, and was awarded damages totalling nearly
$47 million.
* MTV -
Nez had the idea to take music videos and make a whole show out of them. He sold his idea and it became "MTV".
* Liquid Paper -
Michael's mother invented what was later named "Liquid Paper".
